These drawings are a result of an idea I got from another idea I had about the prejudices we harbor. I thought it would be interesting to create portraits from mug shots without knowing anything about each person’s alleged crime. No one here is guilty of any crime; they are the accused, languishing in a limbo of lawyers and cops, and fellow detainees. Eventually they will either be found guilty or exonerated of their particular offense but for now they are in the nether land of suspicion and conjecture.
